A section of the website has recently been brought up to date, with a lot of old pages archived for reference only. These pages can still be accessed, mainly through existing links, bookmarks, or search engines, but they are not linked to from the main site, and their content may not be relevant.

It is not envisaged that any further updates to HelpBytes will be made, but the site shall remain online.

Yahoo! Chat - Accessible? - 13th March 2010 05:34:15

Sarah Bacon, the "Product Manager" of Yahoo! Messenger and self-appointed chief blog censor, has posted a blog entry regarding A chat with Victor Tsaran.

I think what she has failed to acknowledge, as is per usual on this blog, is the failings of the Yahoo! Chat module. This must be one of the only popular systems now without an alternative, accessibility friendly captcha, such as an audio description of the captcha.

I would say add a comment to express how disappointing this is, but chances are, it will just be deleted. Perhaps you may want to Tweet Sarah or Send Sarah an IM. Perhaps on a better note, Sarah Bacon's linkedin profile states she's interested in Career Opportunities, let's hope she moves on!

Yahoo! Messenger 10 Released! - 28th December 2009 18:07:05

It's a little late to the party, but Yahoo has released Yahoo! Messenger 10! In addition to the usual 'eye candy' Yahoo has added Video Calling and Y!Updates. Of course there's bound to be some bugs and various issues, it's a great build.
